When James L. Swanson published “Manhunt” in 2006, it was a much more serious matter with the same principle. John Wilkes Booth had killed our president Abraham Lincoln, and nearly everyone in America was searching for him. It was the greatest manhunt in American history. Swanson gives a very detailed narrative of how the 12-day chase for Lincoln’s killer went. He also tells of Booth’s accomplices that tried to murder vice president, Andrew Johnson and secretary of state, Edward Stanton. He tells how about Booth’s plan, the murder, and how he got away. He tells about the how he was caught and later and killed. He explains vividly the murder and how everyone reacted to it afterwards. Swanson gives explanations of everyone who assisted Booth and what happened to them. He
