Management Planning Boeing has been around for nearly 100 years and from the beginning Boeing has been building planes. Today Boeing puts most of their energy on commercial airplanes, defense, space, and security. Boeing has a wide range of commercial airplanes “from the iconic 747 to the all-new 787 Dreamliner, Boeing delivers a family of technologically advanced and efficient airplanes to customers around the world. We also offer a wide range of services and solutions to help airlines (Boeing Inc., 2010)…” The defense, space and security, “Boeing is a recognized leader in providing and supporting large-scale systems that combine sophisticated communications networks with air-, land-, sea- and space-based platforms for military, government and commercial customers around the world (Boeing Inc., 2010).” Every time that Boeing comes up with a new product or a way to improve an existing one, Boeing has to go through a planning process. In all of Boeings planning process, they have to use company's strategic, tactical, operational, and contingency planning, in which they have to consider the legal, ethical, and social responsibility issue. “Boeing will conduct its business fairly, impartially, in an ethical and proper manner, in accordance with the company's values and Code of Conduct, and in full compliance with all laws and regulations (Boeing Inc., 2010).” A company like Boeing could not be as strong without their ethical beliefs. Although, “it’s not easy to make ethical decisions. Such decisions are complex. For starters, you may face pressures that are difficult to resist. Furthermore, it’s not always clear that a problem has ethical dimensions (Batman & Snell, 2009)…” Boeing had to make strategic plans early within the company to be ethical and by doing so they have been thriving.
