Despite CanGo’s initial success, however, the organization is not without its fair share of concerns. The primary issue with CanGo is that it lacks a formal strategic business plan. The company has also failed to clearly define what its short-term goals and long-term goals are and how it plans to go about realizing those goals. The company also has problems with its current organizational structure. Although roles are clearly defined, CanGo often succumbs to a centralized form of decision-making, with Elizabeth Bennett micromanaging to such a degree that the decision-making process almost becomes paralyzed.
People will often ask what makes a good or long lasting relationship. In truth there is no one answer, what works for some will not work for others, it’s about finding the balance that suits the both people. At the beginning of a new relationship, the excitement of being in that relationship helps us to not see the things the other person does which may cause annoyance. At this stage in the relationship both parties find themselves faced with everyday realities which means they have to work at the relationship to find and maintain a balance. When couples are faced with life changing events or illnesses the balance changes quickly and they will find themselves in the difficult position of facing their own feelings and fears while trying to support each other.
Unfortunately we did not have a good dynamic with at least 1 team member which cause a quite a bit of delay and frustration, but we were able to side step this for the most part and push on with the objectives. Things got really bad one particular week and I am glad it’s over I will have to really do some thinking about how to deal with this if it happens in the real world. 3. What did you learn in completing this project about yourself and how you work in a team environment? I work better with people who are of similar thinking, I think that I lead better than follow, and I know that I prefer to work on things alone.
First an inappropriate forecast was set regarding the project. It was not an appropriate amount of time for the scope of the project. The rest of the team was not confident in the project, nor were they enthusiastic. The time constraints added to this lack of project support. When beginning the project, an Implementation plan was not made, and followed through.
I am always a few tasks ahead of myself in my mind and very often don’t take the time to ask for clarification, or feedback from others to make sure they understand where I am coming from. In the two examples I provided, lack of feedback was definitely a major cause of the misunderstandings. Just a sentence or two in each case from the receiver quantifying the message could have prevented the misunderstandings from occurring. Instead, I was in a hurry to get that easy task off my to-do list and the customer service rep was probably also in a hurry to get on to her next call and her next order. That is the way life seems to be these days in business.
When I really take the time to think about it I wouldn’t want to grow and mature with any other class. Together we’ve been through so much, and we’re nowhere near done growing and developing the knowledge and skills we need to know for the future.
