I trust you are aware of the merger that will take place between InterClean, Inc. and EnviroTech, Inc.. The importance of this for InterClean’s future development is critical, from it depends our continued profitability and the growth of the company. I have prepared this communication outlining the importance of the type of behavior a manager should exhibit under the fusion and the newly proposed solutions/service based selling model that was communicated by David Spence, CEO. In this memo I am addressing three key components that as managers you should understand and implement. These key components are the impact of management in employee productivity, employment laws, and effective practices within a diverse cultural work environment. “It is especially important as the competition for talent intensifies. Being recognized as a great place to work is a strategy that makes a difference” (Mondy, 2008, p. 3). It is the responsibility of the manager to create a work environment in which employees are motivated to perform better increasing productivity and boosting morale. According to Cascio (2005), “When it comes to managing people, all managers must be concerned to some degree with the following five activities: staffing, retention, development, adjustment, and managing change”
