A presentation should be held outlining the present state of the organization. The executives need to see the severe state they are in and how fast they will continue to decline if they do not take action soon. The present state presentation would present honest information informing the audience of where they realistically are. An outline of the amount of business the company has lost out on would be the concluding factor in the presentation letting the company know continuing in this direction will take them completely out of the competitive market. The management team needs to understand that “change is an ongoing and never-ending process of organizational life” (Van de Ven & Sun, 2011, p. 58).

I think that the significance of corporate culture to the practice of effective management, and the increasing workloads of employers and issues surrounding their work/life boundaries. I believe these will have an effect on me personally because an increase in employees is an increase in stress on the managers.
This goal can be measured by comparing it to the SMART goal methodology we discussed in class. SMART stands for specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and timely. This goal is specific because they must train and perform better each day to win the championship in the few weeks they had. It is measurable since they check each person’s time and how they progress, if one runner’s time doesn’t make it they get cut out of the top 7. The main cause of this problem is the incentive for the sellers. It causes employees to work off the clock in order to increase their SPH. Another important problem that the employees of Nordstrom confront is the peer pressure. Every employee want be in the shifts that had maximum sales to increase their sales-per-hour, so there was a lot of competition.
