It is to be written on the personality of Archbishop Joseph Nakabaale Kiwanuka to be considered in connection within the context of African Christianity as will have been touched upon in course of the course on Christianity in Africa and showing Archbishop Kiwanuka’s legacy in light of as of Thomas C. Oden’s observations which are abundantly expressed in the book whose title is How Africa Shaped the Christian Mind. One cannot consider the development of Christianity in Africa without acknowledging the immense accomplishments of the Archbishop, Joseph Kiwanuka. Ahead of his contemporaries in Church and State, Archbishop Kiwanuka identified the roots of problems and was to draw up a “relevant plan of action.” (26) If one were to describe this man of great vision, one would want to consider his personality in light of his legacy. Archbishop Kiwanuka knew his work was of the utmost importance, as there were several forces at work attempting to impede the development of the African Church. The Archbishop was a man of great dedication to his work; this discipline guided his work and inspired his countrymen to do the same. According to the Archbishops vision, evangelization was crucial to the integral development of Christ’s Gospel and his Church.
