In “born to be different” Camille Lewis points out that men and women are biologically different. The difference appeared before we were born cannot be changed and aren’t going to disappear. Lewis explains the anatomy of the brain between men and women apportioned differently. Women’s brains have more gray matter which helps women do several tasks at the same time. Men’s brains have more white matter which allows men to concentrate narrowly on a specific task. The different of brains lead to the interaction of women being empathizers and in contrast, men being systemizers. What’s more, she explains men and women differ in their response to problem solving. I think that the differences between men and women are true. By the author’s biological analysis, it explains why and how men and women are different well. I approve the author’s opinion because “our diverse brain development, our ways of interacting with the world, and our modes of dealing with problems all have their strong points”. (Lewis, 274) As far as I’m concerned, no matter how parents try to make their children different, their performance always return to the state of feminine or masculine, like the little girl in the cartoon playing with the tools as a doll. In our daily life, men and women differ in behaviors, characters and ways of communication and thinking. When stress is coming, men become more focused and talk less, but women are at a loss and become nervous. To release stress, men can’t calm down until the issue is resolved, but once women get emotional venting, everything will be fine. So we can see the difference between men and women when they deal with the stress.
