Malcolm X Throughout the years, Islam has had many civil rights supporters as well as many idols supporting their country. There is one man however, who was a little different than all the rest, but had a positive impact on the country of Islam. In the article “Malcolm X”, Malcolm Little, or more commonly known as Malcolm X, was selected as a spokesman and a minister for the Nation of Islam Organization. For the next eleven years, Malcolm would not only bring in many new followers to the Muslim religion, but he would also take numerous baby steps that would eventually lead to big changes for Islam people. Although he came from a family of eight children, Malcolm was raised well and given a good education. His father was an outspoken minister and his mother was a stay at home mom with all the kids. Gandhi was killed by a Hindu, Jesus was killed by a Jew, and Malcolm X was killed by a Muslim, as far as history knows up to date. All three of these men made a difference in their religion, went down in history, and are still used as idols today. It is irony to me that all three of these important men were killed by fellow brothers of their own religion. It just goes to show that all people of the same religion don’t always agree on the same things applying to that religion. The thing that inspired me to choose to write about Malcolm X was a movie we watched in class called “Inside Islam”. There was a small segment describing so me of the main things Malcolm X did that really interested me. After researching I was actually inspired by the struggles he faced, the things he did, and the way he went about doing them. I liked the fact that he didn’t hold back his opinions and beliefs out of fear of what others would think or do. It wasn’t about who believed or followed him, it was about what he believed.
