Being able to inspire others, motivate, set a vision, communicate, respect others, and of course, lead by example is my idea of leadership. A leader must have an honest understanding of who they are, what they know, and what they are capable of. To be a successful leader, you have to be able to persuade your followers, not just yourself or your superiors, that you are worthy of being followed. In my opinion, this can build confidence in their followers to have faith in you, in order to be able to lead. I honestly believe that good leaders are made rather, and not born.
Answers are not uttered with the simplicity of "yeah" or "ok", but “sir yes sir" and “sir never sir". The very credo of JROTC demands respect at all times, and being able to give that respect means to be a good follower. After becoming a good follower, conversion to a LET 2 meant that I was given the responsibility of leading others. In this new position, I realized that patience is a requirement when dealing with others. It was now my responsibility to show others how to become leaders.
Army leader motivates both within and outside the cycle of command to pursue actions and steer decisions for the greater good of the mission. Some people hold that, as long as someone can give others some task to accomplish by yelling and barking at them is sufficient to qualify one with qualities of good leadership. The historic figure I choose is Nelson Mandela. Nelson Mandela has one of those personalities who has changed the course of history through their courage, dedication, and bravery. South Africa, a country mainly inhabited by its natives was being ruled by a tiny minority of Caucasians. If there was a rule of law or a rule that ensures the human rights of all people without any discrimination on the basis of race, it would have not been acceptable. But Africa's government was the worst example of racialism and violation of the human rights.
They should never take bribes or act corruptly. Any leader should be a person who can set an example for the people and act as a role model to those looking up to them. The second most important trait that a leader should have is responsibility which true leaders are willing to accept. All leaders should always take full responsibility for a task. They must take responsibility before accepting to take on the task as well as after it has been accomplished.
2. I believe that true leadership stems from seven core values that all leaders must possess. The seven core values that I feel every leader must use to develop and maintain their vision from are: Integrity, Informed Ability, Conceptualization, Loyalty, Compassionate Acceptance, Respect, and Personal Courage. With these core values subordinates will not only be loyal, they will thrive and seek to follow the leader as opposed to needing coercion. People need and seek out leadership and not the other way around.
It cannot just be anyone, we will need some of the highest level of officials who are willing to stay committed and are worthy, credible individuals. We then have to figure out how to we start to implement the strategy. You cannot just jump into it and hope it all goes well, you will need to have a smart way of beginning where you will be taken seriously. If we gain

Because of his actions of resistance against the apartheid government he was sent to jail and spent almost 30 years behind bars. In this period he became the leading icon of the antiapartheid movement within South Africa and internationally. When the apartheid government got to a peak, they were forced to make changes. A new president was elected and Mandela was set free from jail in 1990.

(Managers Success) These are only a few of the many types of leadership styles and when trying to find the best that fits both you and the group, are not something to try on and later discard like a pair of shoes in search of the one that fits best. You should be efficient when choosing which leadership style to use or implement on any given group.
Respect is important because society needs to have a positive perception of the Army in order for it to be successful. Selfless Service is putting the needs of the Army before your own, but also taking care of yourself and your subordinates. Honor provides the moral compass for individuals. It is the glue for the Army Values. Integrity and personal courage are important because a Soldier must do what is right all the time even if they are scared.
