DEPARTMENT OF THE ARMY M4 OR M4A1 CARBINE WEEKLY MAINTENANCE SOP 875TH Engineer Company SOP 1 191 Armory RD N. Wilkesboro N.C. 28659 22JULY2014 1. PURPOSE: All 3rd Platoon soldiers will conduct M4 OR M4A1 Carbine Maintenance weekly. 2. APPLICABILITY: 875th Engineer Company, 3rd Platoon 3. REFERENCES: Lubricate order (LO); STP 21-1-SMCT; TM 9-1005-319-10; AR 380-5 and DA Form 2404 Equipment Inspection and Maintenance Worksheet. 3. RESPONSIBILITIES: All soldiers will complete M4 Carbine Maintenance on a weekly basis. All soldiers will draw their individual weapons on Monday, of every week, at 0900HRS, at the arms room. All soldiers will maintain their weapons at the Armory. Each soldier will turn their weapon in NLT 1600HRS, that same day. Each soldier will complete 3 copies of DA Form 2404 IAW TM 9-1005-319-10. One copy will be given to the unit armorer. One copy will be given to the platoon sergeant. Each soldier will keep one copy of the DA Form 2404 for their own records. 4. PROCEDURES: a) All weapons will be disassembled IAW with TM 9-1005-319-10. b) All soldiers will perform a PMCS on their assigned weapon IAW TM 9-1005-319-10 and annotate any defects on each of the 3 copies of DA Form 2404. c) All weapons will be cleaned, IAW TM 9-1005-319-10. All weapons will then be lubricated with CLP IAW TM 9-1005-319-10. d) All soldiers will then reassemble each weapon IAW TM 9-1005-319-10. e) All soldiers will perform a functions check IAW TM 9-1005-319-10. f) All soldiers will then report to their squad leader and/or platoon Sergeant for inspection. g) All Weapons will be cleared in the clearing barrel (IAW with ARMY REGULATIONS) prior to the weapons being turned in to
