Attending meaning being in the company of someone else and giving that person your full attention, to what they are saying or doing. This includes reading the client’s body language and also taking into consideration all the silences and pauses in the conversation. In this essay I will be analysing my contribution in the selection process, first as the interviewer then as the interviewee I was able to look at both parts of the selection process in both situations, which helped me to analyse my conurbation in the process with the help of documents I made in the recruitment part of the unit (such as the application form, job description, and job specification) to help me plan for the interview (as the interviewee and as the interviewer in the planning of the questions). I will also be looking at how well I did in the interview, as a candidate for the job as a legal secretary taking in count my body language, confidence, quick reactions and finally eye contract throughout the interview to help me assess whether or not I did well in the process as an interviewee. Frist as the interviewer I had to prepare the documents for the candidates to use, in the recruitment process the quality of these documents would determine the quality of applicants, which were available for the selection process (which is important for the business as the better the applicants the better the chances of the business getting the right candidate for the job vacancy currently in the business which means that they would not have wasted their resources which would have been used else where). An interviewer plays an important part in the selection process as they are the first people in the business who get to see the candidate; have to assess what type of person they are in a short amount of time, using the questions they have planned and the information from the application form and the other recruitment documents to check if the candidate fits what the business are looking for in the ideal candidate to ensure that they are getting someone who will do the job well; help the business to fill the objects and targets it sets it self for the business year.

The IHSS offices sent the participants letters to inform them about our call to request an interview from them. After the letters were sent we called the people to request an interview; we interviewed those who accepted. The interview was conducted in the participant’s home to make them feel at ease. The interview was semi-structured and recorded with a digital recording device. Results showed that overall the participants are satisfied with the program.

As assistant communications manager at Central Park Inc I have been told to create a table which contains the following types of information: Verbal, written, on screen, multimedia and web based. For each one I will list three internal/external sources and a description. I will also talk about how Birmingham Metropolitan College campus Matthew Boulton uses the internal/external sources. Type of Business Information The Source of the Information Internal/External The purpose of the Information – What is it used for Verbal Internal An internal source is employees speaking to the hierarchy of the business - if they can get a promotion for meeting targets. Employees do this so that they look more confident and so that the employer can read their body language so that there can be a good vibe between the two.
