In addition to the full marathon, a 10 km run and a half marathon are also held. Around 70,000 runners take part each year across all events. Its organizer is Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Association. The aims is to promote athletics in Hong Kong, it is including the development of athletes, coaches, technical officials and professional staff, so as to enhance the athletic performance as well as a healthy image, making Athletics one of the most popular sports in Hong Kong.
