Dad, I am really sorry about lying, and I know that I should’ve just listened to you and obeyed you. It was a stupid mistake, and I don’t know what I was thinking. It’s always bad to lie to people because if you get caught, you can lose trust in those people. They can’t trust you now, and they won’t know when you’re telling the truth to them. There could become a time where no one can believe anything you’re saying or cannot rely on you. People will then tend to mistrust you, and when they do that, you could lose a very close relationship with that person. Also when you lie it could make you lie more, or lie about big things, which is bad. If you tend to lie a lot, your reputation can descend. When people know you for a liar, your reputation is basically ruined. People might not like you even though they don’t know you because your reputation is being a liar and they cannot trust you. Lying can be a symptom of a bigger problem. If you are caught lying, then it could lead to getting into trouble for something stupid. Also I read that lying can kill your self-esteem. When you lie you have to tell more lies to cover up for it. This goes back to me talking about telling bigger lies and could lead to bad things. When you lie to get out of trouble, you end up in more trouble than you would have been if you had told the truth in the first place.
