LSI Style and Interpretations MGMT-591-10572 Leadership & Org Behavior 9/14/2014 LSI Style and Interpretations The LSI survey is a great tool that is meant to help people understand what it is that motivates them, how they interact with others around them, and how they can use their strengths to better manage their interpersonal relationships to help them be successful. In taking this test, I focused on being honest and truthful in my responses in order to get a better understanding of how I may have weaknesses in my relationships with others in my work life and in my family/personal life as well. In doing so, I found that my LSI styles circumplex is rather varied across the 3 groups and, I believe, is indicative of how I am in different circumstances in my life. PERSONAL THINKING STYLES My primary personal thinking style is shown to be affiliative. In reading about the affiliative style, I noticed some attributes that I believe describe me very well. It states that the affiliative manager is well-liked by subordinates and coworkers and that they strive to build long-lasting, meaningful, and reciprocal relationships. Before graduating with my Bachelors in Accounting from Arizona State University, I was working for my Dad’s company framing rooms and building awnings and other construction projects. For the last 3 years while I was finishing school, I had the position of foreman and was responsible for overseeing a crew of 3-6 workers and making sure that they were able to get the job done quickly and efficiently. Each and every member of the crew knew that I would always have their back if they made a mistake, that I would help them out if they needed extra hands, and they respected me because I respected them on both a working and personal level.
