Developmental psychology is another important course I took. I did not realize how beneficial that course was until I started working in a clinical setting. Many of the unhealthy behavior patterns clients come in with were developed as a result of specific events that took place in the early years of their life. After have worked in a clinical setting the last couple of years I can guess the kind of childhood a client had just by observing him/her for a couple of days. Another extremely important course I took was Clinical Psychology.
In a working relationship it is better to try to keep your personal opinions to yourself because It is a lot easier to work if you get on and don't have differences and tensions between you. A personal relationship is a lot easier to speak your mind as the person receiving it knows you well and wont get so offended. Aii Give two examples of different working relationships in an adult social care setting When talking to your co workers they normally can relate because they do the same work and normally know exactly what and who you are talking about. When talking to an agency worker or visiting doctor you would need to be more descriptive as they would not know the residents the same way you do. You would probably have to show them who the different individuals are too.
Coaching does not focus on the problems of the past; it begins with the present moment and moves the client forward into the future. Coaching is a unique relationship in which the client explores with their coach how to live their life more fully and “on purpose” (Williams and Davis 2002). During the 1950’s life was simpler, more secure, and everyday circumstances were basically predictable. This all changed in the 1970’s. Because of corporate downsizing, workers were moved into more of a decision-making role for the efficiency of the company, therefore more training was needed for this transition.
We had a counseling session and it inspired me lots. Afterwards, I studied STPM. After getting my STPM result, my initial plan was pursue a degree in Counseling or Psychology either in local university or private university. I got an offer from University Malaya to study in Counseling in year 2006. I was at the top of the world when I knew I got the course.
Dip L.2 HSC 025 The role of the health and social care worker 1 Explain how a working relationship is different from a personal relationship (HSC 025 01-1) a working relationship is different from a personal one because of boundries, professional codes of conduct there are employer policies and procedures allthough in your working relationship you would be friendly and treat everyone with equality you would also know your role and responsibility, you wouldn't share personal information as you would a personal relationship. There perhaps is no emotional attachment and is primarily based around your job. Your assessor is happy with your answer to the above question. very good, whilst at work it is very important to maintain your professional boundries. 2 Describe different working relationships in the health and social care setting (HSC 025 02-1) In health and social care settings there are many different examples of working relationships, these would include: colleauges, managers, clinical staff such as nurses, other professionals such as doctors/district nurses, social workers, advocates, the service user and their family and friends.
This case study sees SAS, a successful software company, questioning whether or not they can continue to attract the best employees. Having analyzed the case I have to say that for the most part this will likely not be a problem. John Bowling describes one of the most important aspects of the work environment as being “freedom.” Employees are given the tools to do their job effectively and let loose to do so. One characteristic that Dr. James Goodnight, SAS’s CEO, that exemplifies as a bad employee is “someone in need of a lot of direction.” Employees are encouraged to take steps to innovate and create on their own. I think the quote that sums up the company’s outlook on their employees is, “if you take care of your people, they will take care of your company.” The company believes in mentoring rather than monitoring and are based around trust and respect.
Equality does not mean that people will be treated the same, but they should be treated fairly. For example one of my job titles in my care home is that I’m an activity co-ordinator and when doing activities sometimes I will have to help a service user more than others so that way they get an equal opportunity in participating in the activity. I might also have to repeat myself more than once because they might of not understood what I said or problems of hearing than other service users. This is why equality is important because it’s about giving individuals an equal chance in participating and feel included in an activity. 1c) inclusion
A bond is formed as the worker treats the client with unconditional positive regard and seems interested and may even be interested in the client’s life. The client begins to trust the worker and may disclose things they haven’t disclosed to anyone before. It is important for the worker to maintain professional boundaries such as, not meeting the client outside, not disclosing personal information about themselves etc as the relationship is easily confused for friendship by the service user. It is the responsibility of the worker to not blur the lines. Learning outcome 2 Be able to work in ways that are agreed with the employer.
Kaplan University MT302 Organizational Behavior Professor Pam DeLotell July 21, 2013 While mentoring is very important I never thought about having a mentor in the business world. There are a few things someone could learn from their mentor that would make them better and stronger once they enter into the business world. Having a mentor is an opportunity to develop communication skills, expand your viewpoints, and consider new ways of approaching situations. Mentors can suggest several paths you might take and can also help you develop personal qualities and competencies. They can also help you expand your knowledge and build your professional networks because they usually are more experienced.
They will also have existing relationships with other employees which will make communicating with them easier and more relaxed. Also, they will know the jargon of the company, meaning that communication with other employees will not fell as though like a complete outsider is speaking to them. And they will be familiar with the root causes of many of the organisation's problems which will grant a head start into the development and change process. There are time advantages of this because internal consultants do not have to spend time
