The importance of love in Siddartha Love. Love is a very scary but also beautiful thing that has the ability to make people do things they would never do and change people for the better, not only is love a powerful thing in life, but in the bood Siddartha love is an extremely powerful thing when it comes to Siddartha finding enlightenment. In order to reach enlightenment siddartha had to first overcome suffering, and the suffering he overcame was caused by love. Love in Siddartha is used as an indirect way to find englightement. Whatever you love, weather it be a friend, a spouse, or a family member, will one day leave you. Anything you love will one day cause you to suffer because you one day will loose what you love. In Siddartha you must overcome suffering before you can find enlightenment, so one must love in order to suffer in order to become strong enough to over come the suffering and reach enlightenment. The theme of love however, goes very unnoticed throughout most of the book, because of Siddarthas belief that in order to find enlightenment you must travel on your own, and teach youself through experiances. It's not till the end of the book when Kamala and Siddarthas son come into the picture and he finally suffers by losing them both. Siddartha needed to loose love in order to find enlightenment. Through love SIddartha finds his way to englightenment. All the time he had spent with kamala, and learning the art of love from Kalmala, made him start loving her. Siddartha did not beleive that he could or that he should love if he wanted to find englightenment so he left the village and continued on his own. But when Kamala came to the river all the feeligns Siddartha was having returned, and when she died Siddartha finally realized that he had loved her all along.
