Lord of the Flies Simbols in Our Society

In the book “Lord of the Flies” written by Golding, it tell us a story of a group of kids that suffer an aircraft and only kids survive. The oldest ones were about 13 or 12 years old. After the accident they arrive to an island located in the Pacific Ocean, which was inhabited so they started civilization. At the beginning they were civilized and a kid named Ralph started to organize the group of kids so he put rules an assigned them labors, also in the story we find other characters that are Jack, Piggy, and Simon that were important too. Jack was the leader of the choir and transformed the choir into hunters; he also wanted to be the chief but kids choose Ralph. Piggy was the fat guy and the most mature of the entire group; he found the conch that Ralph uses to call an assembly and for talking because the person that has the conch can talk, otherwise he can’t. Finally Simon was a member of the choir that always helped everyone. These characters are symbols in our society; each of them represented something. Ralph by being a civilized leader that put rules labors so they can survive. Jack by being the degradation of civilization, he began by following Ralph’s rules and contribute by forming a group of hunters so they can eat, but then he began to disobey them and form a tribe of hunters that actually was a group of savage Indians. Piggy by being mature represented the intellectual and reasonable part by telling the kids what is happening, to wake them up and make them think. And Simon helped everyone in the group and talked about the part in humans by talking to the “Lord of the Flies”, that is the head of a sow that is buried into the ground and it was named like that because it was surrounded by flies; the Lord of the Flies represents Beelzebub (the devil).
