Longer School Day? Or Homework?

Julia Hall February 15, 2011 Group D In this essay there is a debate on a longer school day or homework. I believe students should have a longer school day instead of homework. The main topics in this essay is what the students can do during the day without homework, what the parents can do and what the teachers in the school building can do if their wasnt any homework. Ever want to know what the feeling is like to not think about homework when you get home? One reason i think a longer school day is better than having homework is because students can work harder on trying to do their work and not rush through it to get it over with so they won't have to do it for homework. Another reason i think having a longer school day would be better is because when the students need help, their teachers will be right there to help them instead of being outside the school not knowing how to do something. I also think the students will get the opportunity to play more sports, hang out with friends and do the things they love and enjoy doing. Homework doesn't have these good advantages. This is what the students would particurally like, but what about the parents? What good advantages might they get out of it? In this next paragraph I will tell you why they might consider this. Wouldn't parents love not to rush on getting their work done befvore they leave work? Well with a longer school day they can actually have time to finnish their work and consentrate on it. They might even have some time to just relax at home before they pick up their children. They might even get to sleep longer and go to work later than they used to. Parents wouldn't have to help their children on homework when they already have too much on their minds form work and home abligations, like making dinner and
