Over time and distance, Asia was greatly influenced by long distance mobility in their social environment. Two main examples of long distance mobility are water transportation and travelling on land. Spread of religion, communications with different regions of people, expansion and invasion of land, trading and exchanging of cultures and goods were all mainspring from long distance mobility in Asia before and after 1400CE. Environmental factors, such as location of water and having low lands, were very important key points for the long distance mobility. Through these trade routes by land and transportation system by water, so many of Central Asia’s social environments have changed. These trade routes by water and land were the possibilities of expansions of places and development of areas. Movements of people depended on water. Nomads seeked for water, and they determined their destinations based on the location of water. Nomads were at the bottom of hierarchy system, yet they are the linkage of Central Asia history and now. Monsoons and huge rivers around Asia were greatly affecting Asian transportation system by water. Importance of sea transportation increases past 500 years. One of the main land long distance mobility was through Silk Road. What is Silk Road? Silk Road is a series of trade and cultural transmission routes that were central to cultural interaction through regions of Asia. (Wikipedia) Merchants, monks, pilgrims, traders, nomads, and etc. were all travelling through Silk Road in the history of Asia.
