Introduction The Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals defines Supply chain management as comprising of the planning and management of all activities involved in sourcing and procurement, conversion, and all logistics management activities. Notably, it also includes coordination and collaboration with channel partners, which can be suppliers, intermediaries, third party service providers, and customers. In essence, supply chain management integrates supply and demand management within and across companies (Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals, 2011). This report would therefore be critically reviewing the supply chain activity of Argos and Ikea as well as evaluating the various systems employed by each company to ensure customer satisfaction. Likewise, Logistics as described by the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) is that part of Supply Chain Management that plans, implements, and controls the efficient, effective forward and reverse flow and storage of goods, services and related information between the point of origin and the point of consumption in order to meet customers' requirements. In other words, it involves getting the right goods and services to the right place, at the right time, and in the desired condition and quantity in relation to customers order (Ballou, 1997). It is an integral factor in the success of any company’s operations and has a direct impact on their bottom line. Therefore, this report would also be analysing the logistics operations of these high street companies and its impact on the loyalty of their respective customers.
