Living Life in the City or on a Farm We all have dreams when we are young where we would like to live when we grow up. Some of us choose the city and others imagine living on a farm. My purpose in this essay is to contrast the differences in living in the city or on a farm. We will look at the types of housing, pace of life, chores, and activities we do for fun. Let us take a moment to examine the differences in living in the City or on a farm. We shall begin by examining the types of housing that you find available in the City. The city has a variety of houses ranging from apartments, flats, condominiums, townhouses to hotel suites. There are so many types of different housings because you have numerous types of people that live and/or work there. In the city most houses are just a few feet away from one another. The pace of life in the city is best described as fast paced, loud and energizing. Traffic is everywhere. You have to wait at stop signs and stop lights for a long periods of time due to the high volumes of people. It is normally a place for people with on-the-go attitudes. Chores in the city are usually done by hired housekeepers because, people are so busy with work or transit times to and from work that it leaves them little time to do them. People in the city have so many different activities they can do for fun. They have movie theaters, concerts, professional sporting events, zoos, shopping malls, restaurants and museums. There is always something available to spend an evening out with friends or family. Next let us take a look at living life on a farm. Housings on a farm are mostly single-family detached homes, mobile homes and occasional low-rise apartment buildings.
