Living in Contemporary China “I love your exuberant seedlings in spring, I love your bountiful golden fruits in autumn, I love your temperament of green pines, I love your character of red plum flowers, I love your home-grown sugar cane, that nurtures my heart like milk. I love you, China, I will dedicate the most beautiful song to you, My mother, My motherland.” This is a popular song that Chinese love because it praises contemporary China. The present is the best time to live in China because of its social stability, economic growth and rich cultural heritage. First of all, contemporary China has social stability. In the 19th and 20th century, China was often oppressed by imperialism, national weakness, and civil war. In 1949, Mao Zhedong, founded the People's Republic of China. After that “The Great Leap Forward” and “Cultural Revolution,” were two movements that brought China into extreme poverty and turmoil. Until the eighties, China adopted its policies of reform and expanded to guarantee the steady development of society. Today, China doesn’t join any wars in the world and makes efforts to improve relationships with neighboring countries. China government has strict control of firearms and adopted the death penalty system. Chinese people live and work in peace and contentment. In addition, China’s economy has the highest growth rate in the world. Chinese goods flood global markets. These include living goods, toys, electronic product, clothing etc. a large percentage of products are made in China. China has kept the role of number one of exporters in the world and accumulated a great amount of wealth. China has $1900 billion currency reserve in the foreign markets.
