Children may also be more likely to be born with handicaps because of problems or change in the mothers reproductive organs as a result of previously having an abortion. Not only can there be significant physical damages to a mother, but their can also be severe psychological damages as well. Post abortion depression is extremely common among women. Women who have aborted their fetuses may experience anything that ranges from mild depression, to suicidal thoughts, and in extreme cases, actual suicide. This proves that abortion can be detrimental to both a woman’s physical and mental health.
What is more important is that we are giving a woman the choice of whether or not she will have an abortion. No human being; how smart, powerful, or important they may be; has the right to change what may happen to another human’s body unless that change is made by a doctor in an extreme medical condition, where that doctor has the consent of the patient, or relative of the patient, to help that person. When a woman makes the decision to have an abortion the decision is not taken lightly. That is the concern of many pro-life supporters. They are concerned that women are becoming pregnant and simply saying, “O well, I’ll just have another abortion.” That is not the case.
The author argues that a pregnant woman still preserves right to abortion, if that creates threat to her life and health. However, such practice cannot be qualified as murder because similar decisions are made about criminals, hopeless patients, as well as lives of thousands of people
Adoption is an excellent choice for women who choose to carry their pregnancy full term. Women have the right to choose whether or not they want to go through with pregnancy. Relying on abortion as a form of birth control is not right but how can we tell women how to use their rights? In many cases such as rape or in women who cannot healthily carry a pregnancy abortion is a healthier alternative. In rape cases women who decide to go through the pregnancy suffer severe psychological and emotional disturbances towards themselves and the child.
An example of fallacies from the article would be, when or if you take away birth control more women will get pregnant and our world will indeed over populate. This is a great example because I am using fear to scare the readers. An example of using specific rhetorical devices in our speech would be for example; taking away birth control will prevent more teenage pregnancies or actually have a drastic increase in diseases and pregnancies than expected. This is a good example because it is stating two sides and is contradictory for a higher meaning. * How did the speaker address arguments and counterarguments?
This will prevent women from having the maximum abortions allowed in one state and then having them done in another state in the unfortunate event that she become pregnant with yet another child. I feel that after two abortions within a ten year time span and being no less than five years apart that birthcontrol should be a mandatory requirement. This would force women to use a second form of contraception and help prevent pregnancy. I also feel that in the event that contraception such as the depo shot or birth control pills should fail a women that their form of contraception should be re-evaluated with the help of a doctor. I feel at this point when a woman has her third abortion a device such as the inter uterine device also known as the I.U.D should be considered I even think depending on a womans situation and circumstances such as how many children she may already have at home should be considerd and feel that some women should be required to have their tubes tied ( Tubal Ligation).
They believed that abortions were okay even though they knew they were being put in situations in which there was a possibility of them having multiple fetuses. The way the parents in the stories dealt with their conflict were by the style of problem solving. The parents felt by eliminating the baby, they would be eliminating any future problems. The topic of abortions is very controversial, some people believe they are acceptable while others think it is purely evil and wrong. I am on the fence about abortions.
I can also see that when she was raped, it was not a morally good act so the decision to pass the first step would be a little more complicated than what it seems. I believe that this case however would not pass the “the good must come from the direct action, the bad from the indirect” rule. Even though we know she is a rape victim who became pregnant because of that incident, it would still directly harm the fetus. The woman might benefit from the abortion in more than one way, but her decision would kill the fetus and would not pass the second
Abortion is a very controversial and very debatable issue today. Its an issue where ethics, emotions and law come together. The two different point of views towards abortion are “pro-life” and “pro-choice”. A pro-choicer person would feel that [Use a form of "believe," which is more accurate (and not a cliché)] the decision to abort a pregnancy is the mother's choice. A pro-lifer is someone who feels that [Use a form of "believe," which is more accurate (and not a cliché)] from the point of development of the embryo that baby is alive and aborting it is like murder.
Melissa Capristo Mr. Baumgartner English 10 Honors 2 December 2012 Pro-Choice How would you feel if someone controlled what you did to your own body? I feel that by not making abortion legal you are controlling someone’s rights to their own body. Many women that want to have an abortion have emotional and personal reasons behind it. Some women choose to have their babies even though they didn’t want to but I believe that those kids have a high chance of growing up feeling unloved by their mother. I believe that every single person that is born into this world should have the rights to their own body.
