Lifespan Development and Personality Paper Human behavior and personality is dependent upon a variety of factors. As people grow and learn, they develop in many different ways. Society, culture, and genetics all contribute to the development of all beings. The thought processes and lifestyles are all defined by the different influences of the human condition. Geographical location also contributes to the development of people. Adolescence is the time between 12-20 years of age. This is a very crucial time in every child's life. This is a time that will help determine a child's social, and moral, worth in society. Physical development will be completed and personalities will be developed. As an adolescent grows into adulthood, many factors will affect physical development. Family will affect the adolescent in a variety of ways. A family that exercises daily and spends a lot of time together will develop into stronger adults. On the other hand, an adolescent that never sees the parents, or interacts with the parents in a negative away may develop slower. Children that grow up in a rural environment and grow up working hard in the fields and farms tend to grow up physically larger than children in city environments. In American society, children enjoy the comforts of video games and television. Because of this, they are more likely to grow up without the needed exercise to develop strong bodies and minds. Teens begin to see their bodies as more than just boy or girl. Sexual organs become more pronounced, and the sexual urge begins to happen. Most adolescents will go through a growth spurt sometime in their teen years. This is hereditary and occurs unless the child has some sort of genetic problem that prevents it.
