There were many factual claims on both sides throughout the debate, but the Q/A portion really caught my attention. Especially the question that stated, “what, if anything at all would change your mind?” I think that this is where Ken really lost ground. By saying that nothing would ever change his mind about the Christian God being the one true God that created the universe, in my opinion was completely writing out the validity of all science. The one thing that everyone should take away is maybe no one owns those holy sites that were fought over for centuries, but maybe they belong to all religious groups and should hold enough religious significance, so no matter what you religious affiliation is a person can go there without fear of life. The Pope and the highest-level religious person from each religion should set down and create a state or several states to manage all the holy sites, sort of a coop. Both Christians and Muslims should learn from history and not judge people for whom they were, but who they are. When looking at all the masterpieces throughout history, Islamic art is not often one that immediately jumps to mind. After delving deeper into the culture of Islam, it becomes apparent that Islamic art ought to be more recognized than it currently is. The art found in this region is unique than that of other cultures because almost everything that is done is based off of their religious practices or beliefs. A novice of Islamic Art should immediately notice that all of their masterful architecture stems from religion, in fact they almost always are Mosques, or homes of the religious practices. My doctors opens the door and say to me “Erika I have some great news for you” I respond with a shaky nervous voice and say “okay great”. She smiles and says to me in a soft gentle voice “you’re pregnant”.
