Two major life events that had a significantly positive impact on my life were, moving out of my mother’s house and becoming a mother myself. In all the things I have endured in my life I chose moving out of my mother’s house because it was my first big step in becoming an adult. The next major event into adult hood was starting a family and becoming a mother myself. These two events helped me grow up and learn to be responsible. Urie Bronfenbrenner proposed a theory of ecological systems, which focuses on broad, interconnected influences on human development. It proposes that we can best explain development in terms of the interaction between individuals and the environments in which they live (Bronfenbrenner, 2004). The text states that According to this theory, psychologists need to look at family, culture, community, and the influences of the era in which people live in order to understand the circumstances surrounding individual growth (Mossler 2013). The microsystem refers to the daily environment (Mossler 2013). This ring in Bronfrenbrenner’s ecological systems for me represents my family life. While living at my mother’s house she taught me the things I needed to know in order to be able to move out on my own and be a responsible adult. She also taught me the essentials I needed to become a mother and raise a family. From my mother I learned how to manage a house hold, prepare meals, and care for another person. The exosystem ring of Bronefenbrenner’s ecological systems influenced my life due to the major changes in the economy around me. Jobs were not always easy to find and sometimes difficult to keep due to the constant change in economy. Without a job raising a family and maintaining a house hold can become difficult. The mesosystem ring in bronfrenbrenner’s ecological system probably has the most influence on my everyday life. Many times I find myself
