Letter to Grandchildren

Dear grandchildren, I am writing you this letter to describe what life is like right now in the United States in 2014. There is no doubt in my mind that in fifty years, the world will be much different. It is in all my my hope, that the world will have improved before you are born. First off, I would like to point out that I am grateful for where I live and what I have. I mean, there are plenty of kids in Africa and other places who live life in much worse conditions than us. However, right now our economy is obviously struggling, and we owe billions of money to China. This is because China makes everything, I mean everything, for us. Almost every toy that children play with here is made in China. It is outrageous. The Chinese workers work for very cheap, and that is why we have them make all the stuff. However, it all adds up, which is something our country somehow failed to realize. Our current president is Barack Obama who is the first African American president for our country. When he became president, he constantly stressed the word, "change." He promised that he would change our country for the better. Although, it has been four years since he was elected, and there hasn't been much "change." In fact, our economy has continued to go downhill. Homeless people are filling the streets mostly because there are not many job opportunities being created. Our country needs more jobs in order to begin this so called, "Change." The next subject I will talk about is the environment. Let's just say that it's not the best. All of the factories out there are producing a lot of pollution. Also, global warming is melting the glaciers in the Poles. Another problem we are having is deforestation. Many people are cutting down rain forests for homes.
