Because of tough state laws such as charging murder suspects as adults regardless of their age, Pennsylvania tops the nation in the number of young offenders condemned to life in prison without parole.... Nearly 500 teens serving life terms in Pa. prisons To begin with, can a person come from a life of crime to changing their life around? Yes, they can and many have proved to doing so. In that case, why haven’t juveniles been given a chance to change their life around? Society needs to give the youth an opportunity to prove that they can change their lives instead of giving up on them. Not every child is given the needed tools to succeed in life, but with help and programs they can get what they deserve.
