They are known to contain a number of different chemical agents in order to neutralize offensive odor s and create a more pleasant scent. The basic ingredients in air fresheners are formaldehyde, petroleum distillates, 1,4 dichlorobenzene and aerosol propellants. Nowadays, air fresheners are also used as an insect repellent. Mosquitoes are the most common target of these aerosol sprays. These air fresheners may not only help in cleaning the air, but also help in lessening the mosquitoes which can harm humans in there distinct ways. It said to be native in this country and mainly used to add flavour to Asian cuisine. The utility of the plant is found in its leaves. Because of the plants fragrance, it mostly used as a cooking agent, but also used in herbal soaps, shampoos, medicine and food products such as beverages and food preservatives. That is why it is found almost everywhere in the country because of its wide range of uses. Lemon grass is also said to have a mosquito repelling effect because of its fragrance. The plant’s oil extract contains citronellal which is the main mosquito repelling component. It also contains geranyl acetate, nerol, granoil and mycerene which are also responsible for its aroma.
