Learning Style Essay As a unique individually we all learn differently. Some people learn by listening, some is by touching the materials and others are something else. Some people are used to the time to absorb more information depending day or night and some prefer to watch television or listen to the radio while studying. Each and every person has a process by which they learn, but they also need to know what style does not work for them. My personal learning style tends to be on aural, the “noisy” kind of environment. I can never sit at one place either at home or school without any sounds at all. I just need a bit of noise to do my homework and any other assignments. However I also have visual and socializing style too. Over the summer I traveled to two different countries for my first internship to learn socializing with other colleagues and a bit of visual through my internship at the companies. I found out a new style in both of the companies, and they both tend to lead towards “hands on” approach. When I came back to the United States this two style and a new style I’ve learned over my summer work experience helps me a lot during my studying in San Jacinto College. One my weaknesses I ran into throughout my years of education is I am not a “read it in the book” person and sometimes I can be very forgetful if I read too much. Unfortunately this tend to be the most used learning style in colleges because they are very traditional than high school. I had lots of trouble on my first day studying in college classes. I always put reading until the last minute, if I actually do it at all. When it comes to reading I won’t use any aural learning style. My dad always nagged at me every time that I should read at least a book or two to improved my English, but I never listened to him and end up mixing my English with my home language which is Vietnamese.
