Learning and Memory
      Every individual goes through a learning process, a cycle of learned information and memory storage of that information.   In this paper, we will attempt to describe the neuroanatomical and neural processes related to learning and also those related to the storage system known as memory.   We will offer information about the relationship between these processes in terms of learning and memory.   We will elaborate on the importance of lifelong learning and brain stimulation to longevity and quality of life for individuals.   Stimulation of the mind is critical to individual overall health and vitality.
      The neuroanatomy of and neural processes related to learning begins with one’s learning experience and their memory.   Learning is a process in the brain where one’s mind processes new information and abilities and one’s memory is the way in which the mind stores the information.   Our brain process information in different ways, our brain has what is known as Procedural memory; the process of remembering how to do certain things as it works as a guide in the processes we perform while well below the level of conscious awareness.   We also have what is known as Declarative memory, which is how one can remember semantic information.   Memory plays a large role in how individuals are able to learn.
      Learning involves the brain forming memories as well but the biology behind these series of actions is an elaborate system that is responsible for each area of learning.   This system is known as the limbic system there are two major parts to the limbic system structures, the amygdala and hippocampus these each have a significant role in one’s memory.   The amygdala is accountable for...
