I will create this environment through an engaging curriculum, personable interaction, topic orientated discussions, and group work. Since my license will include an endorsement in Special Education my classroom management will include a focus on flexibility defined as the ability to respond to the moods, emotions and the capabilities of my students on any given day. Meeting the needs of my students, based on their individual need, will be a crucial part of my classroom management structure. I will accomplishment this by promoting self-management and self-efficacy in my students to the best of their abilities. Creating a predictable, consistent, and success-oriented environment will promote self-management in my students by creating, basic, daily routines with limited changes (Savage & Savage, 2010).
Inclusive learning should promote positive behaviour and conduct. A teacher needs to recognise that learner comes with different learning styles and needs. Maslow stated unless certain need are met the learner cannot progress. Malsow ‘s hierarchy of needs theory is: Learners needs have to to be met in order for leaners to be involved and focused on their learning. For individual learning styles to be met, within a good learning sessions a teacher will ensure he/she takes a multi-sensory approach to teaching, this way each learner can work to the best of their ability.
FACE Briefing Ten | Major changes to the KS4 science curriculum From 2006, the KS4 National Curriculum programme of study has been revised and is considerably reduced from the current programme of study. The purpose for the changes is to promote science teaching that is relevant and motivating to all students in the 21st Century, to widen GCSE science choices, and to improve science uptake post-16. Some of the relevant issues include: In the past, candidates could be disapplied from science to follow other routes. This will no longer be the case and all students will have to follow a science course but this does not mean that they will have to take an exam in it. Many existing qualifications do not meet the revised programme
The authors believe that case study teaching is becoming a favored method to teach STEM classes because it engages students with real life issues. A challenge teachers have in the classroom is sufficient time to cover the curriculum. The writers recommend using a flipped classroom concurrently with case study teaching. Students can cover the material independently at home and class time can be used for hands on learning using case studies. The writers list examples of case studies used in a general biology class and a list of websites that a can be used at home for the students.
This essay will explore the significance of IP education and how this will lead to successful IP working. It will focus on personal IP education and from personal practical experience in placements and reflect on how to improve IP collaboration in the future. Finally I will identify a barrier to IP working and what changes could be made to make IP working more effective. Since 2004 it has been a requirement that pre-registration health and social care students in England must receive IP education opportunities. The main objective for this is to guarantee students: “…learn with, from and about each other…to aid collaboration in practice” (CAIPE, 1997).
Reflective practice is important to the development of lecturers as professionals as it enables us to learn from our experiences of teaching and make easier student learning. Developing reflective practise means developing ways of reviewing our own teaching so that it becomes a routine and a process by which we might continuously develop. Kolb’s Learning Style Model. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Learning_styles Kolb developed a theory of experiential learning that can give us a useful model by which to develop our practise. This
A Critical Analysis of Own Approach to Reflective Practice and Exploration of Potential Continuing Personal and Professional Development (CPPD) By Michael Smallman What is reflective practice? According to Jennifer Moon (1999: p63), it is "a set of abilities and skills, to indicate the taking of a critical stance, an orientation to problem solving or state of mind". It is my intention to give a detailed examination of reflective practice, both in my own approach and also in general terms. The analysis will cover what I feel is beneficial in how I apply reflective practice, and how it plays such a vital role in classroom management. I will also discuss Continuing Personal and Professional Development (CPPD) and why it is important for every teacher to ensure that their individual progress is regularly maintained.
Philosophy of Classroom Management As a teacher, providing a safe, comfortable classroom environment and maximizing opportunities for student learning are the most important factors in governing student behavior. In this statement, I will describe my strategies for establishing and maintaining a well-managed environment to optimize learning opportunities. My strategies are highly influenced by Harry and Rosemary Wong. To make the room stimulating and visually appeasing, I decorate it with science/math materials as well as examples of student work. The plants and animals in my science classroom are designed to bring in natural life and attract students’ interest.
O Manual handling operations regulations1992. O Management of health and safety at work regulations 1999. 1.1 Reflecting on work activities is an important way to develop your own knowledge and skills. This recognises what has been learnt before and identifies areas requiring improvement which can give motivation and encourages future education. This can help with future career progress.
Democrats feel that this program can help young children to enhance their learning in STEM. This is important because are students show signs of lacking in math and in science over the years. This program will allow teachers to enhance their skills in technology, science, math, engineering so that the students can have a better understanding of the learning and encourage students to go to college to obtain STEM degrees. (http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/2010/09/16/changing-equation-stem-education ) In conclusion, I discovered that democrats are highly supportive of education in our children’s lives. The Democratic Party feels lowering interest rates of student loans and increase Pell grants, reform the “No Child Left behind Act”, investing in early child hood education, and Prioritize “STEM education” are some of the terms in reshaping our view of education in today’s
