Some may think that a leader needs to be tough so that the people will not take advantage of him, while others think that a leaders needs to be friend to the people and show them compassion. Machiavelli's "The Qualities of the Prince" covers many topics that are all supposed to make a successful leader. It serves as a practical guide for ruling.
