Leadership is important because when leadership is effective it can make a positive difference not only in the lives of people, but in the functioning of groups and the success of organizations. Leadership has been shown to enhance employee’s satisfaction and motivation with their jobs. Leaders not only play a role in strategy formulation, but also more importantly, play a crucial role in implementation of organization strategies (Mills, 2005). Question 2 What are the five key elements in our leadership definition? How do the elements interrelate to form this definition? We can define leadership as the influencing process of leader and followers to achieve organizational objective through change Five key elements of leadership are leaders-followers, influence, organizational objectives, change and people (Lussier & Achua, 2013). The elements interrelate to form this definition by Leader, follow—leaders influence the behavior of followers, and vice versa. Influencing—the relationship leaders and followers, who change roles. Organizational objectives—outcomes that leaders and followers want to accomplish. Change—needed to achieve objectives. People—leadership is about leading people (Lussier & Achua, 2013).
