Ever since I was little, I have always been fascinated on what lawyers do for our society. They educate citizens on the ever-changing laws and defend their clients in court. Winning is a lawyers only goal for their client. Lawyers, also called attorneys, must be good at researching to be successful in their client’s case. Through understanding the job description, tough requirements, potential earnings, and a hopeful future helped me determine my verdict to become a lawyer. Once I decided to pursue being a lawyer, I first had to understand their job description. They usually fall in one of the five categories: Criminal, district, corporation, patent, or environmental lawyers. Including in the five major categories, there are areas where a lawyer can specialize in, like bankruptcy, international, elder, or probate law (“Lawyer” Exploration Center). The category I have always been interested in is Corporation law. “Corporation Lawyers advise corporations on legal rights, obligations and privileges in accordance with the constitution, statutes, decisions and ordinances” (“Lawyer” Exploration Center). Offices, law libraries and courtrooms are usually the environments for an attorney, including visits to a client’s home or even prisons (“Lawyer”). In…show more content…
In order to represent someone in court, a lawyer is required a license from the State. First, to accomplish this, I must have a bachelor’s degree and have been to law school for 3 years. To complete the process of becoming an attorney, it is imperative I pass one of the hardest tests: The bar examination (“Lawyer”). In order to succeed the bar exam it is essential I start my preparation in high school by taking courses such as economics, English, history, speech, and social studies (“Lawyer” Exploration Center).
