Assignment 3 1. After reading the entry about Big John, The Lawn & Garden Doctor business, I feel as if the business should remain open. The lawsuit held against the company was an unfortunate happening done by an innocent bystander’s dog. Anything that happened within the lawsuit was not done purposely by Big John, or his employees. Mr. and Mrs. Weed remain in good standings within the law because of the plaintiff and their thoughts of being in legal standing of the regulations. My argument when considering the retirement of the business is that if the Weed’s decide to end their service, they are giving opportunity to other locals to take in their ideas and create the same business with a different title. In fact, since Big John was always so honest and genuine with his work ethic, he always made sure he was under regulations. Someone else could cut the corners just to make a profit from a recycled business. I am in full agreement that Mr. and Mrs. Weed continue their business, in fact, I think they should expand the public’s awareness about the type of treatment they deliver, by doing so they can deliver pamphlets throughout their town, especially to those they have already treated. It helps their current customers understand the risks that could take place during the treatment, and it could also explain how to keep themselves out of danger by keeping themselves away from the chemicals. This keeps the integrity of the business by continually being honest to their patrons, and keeps the moral values of serving quality service as well. 2. After reading the entry of Big John, The Lawn & Garden Doctor, I strongly recommend changing or eliminating the new division. I have a firm belief that if these chemicals being used within the new division have to be kept away and locked up because of how deadly they can be it shouldn’t be used at all.
