Final Draft Essay Have you ever seen a Large-Mouthed Desert Eagle (L.M.D.E) before? Imagine a bird that is 4 feet tall, has a 6 foot wingspan, and has claws like a tiger. This big and terrifying bird is what I'm doing my project on. The L.M.D.E has been heavily protected, but the protection has not been enough to save it, and this bird is on the verge of extinction. The L.M.D.E lives in the desert, which is how it got its name. It needs very little water and that is very good because there is very little water in the desert. It hates rainfall and loves very dry air. It also likes the desert because it has lots of cacti and it lives inside of cacti. The types of food that the L.M.D.E eats are things like snakes, worms, and termites. This creature is on the verge of extinction because it gets hunted by humans and vultures. It is much bigger and stronger than vultures, and is only killed by them because they travel in packs. Humans are its main predator and are the reason that the L.M.D.E is almost extinct. The L.M.D.E uses the desert's vast area to maneuver easily. It uses its good sight to keep its eye on its prey from long distances. It uses its quickness and the large area of the desert to dive down and retrieve its prey. The reason the bird needs to maneuver easily is so that it can make quick moves to get away from its prey. It also needs quickness so its prey cannot get away. The L.M.D.E is a very unique bird because of its size and amazing abilities.
