There are more and more people who have their own computers. Nevertheless some people easily get confused when deciding to buy a computer, how does one know which is better, a laptop or a desktop computer? There are some similarities as well as some very big differences between the two type of computer that you might want to consider when choosing one. Laptop and desktop computer can do well at what they are needed for such as studying, researching, working, sending email or entertaining. Typically, both have a CPU, some memory RAM and a motherboard. Both laptop and desktop can run on the same type of operating system. People can make video conference, download music, create DVDs and CDs, communicate with people all around the world, and endless things on laptop or desktop computer. Yet despite these similarities, there are a lot of differences between these kinds of computer. Laptops offer some advantages that desktops don’t. First at all is the portability. A laptop is easily to carry anywhere; it is perfect for students, and professionals who require a computer while on the move if they need to give presentations or access internet while away from home. Laptops have lower power than a desktop, so it helps to conserve electricity. They are single units with all feature built in it, thus it does not contain wires like desktop. On the other hand, a desktop has some benefits that a laptop doesn’t. For example, a desktop is usually cheaper than a laptop. It is easier to upgrade, and to repair. A desktop computer doesn’t get stolen very much compared to a laptop computer. And it has more hard drive space than a laptop.
