Ehrenreich is correct in her assertion that women are too ladylike and have a lot to learn from men. Being “nice” and ladylike makes a woman socially disadvantaged. In our personal lives, we tend to talk a lot in our conversations with men to keep discussions going lively. The men are only inputting a few words; a woman is doing all the work. In these conversations, we give excessive information, making us too loose.
Her agenda are to use man for money and anything else she need to look glamour and to survived. Like, most parent ask their self why many teenage dress like, ‘hoochie-mom’. Are we considering them as ‘hoochie-mom’ or are they acting like a prostitute or maybe, they may be the fastest who are wearing sexy clothes. Many of them get on face book with a picture of them self being half dress holding some type of alcohol bottle to show that they are sexy. Most teenage tell about their sexy life and taking picture with their boyfriend kissing just to be cool.
Sadly, it seems that the women in Pakistan honestly believe that they are below the men in their country because they continue to allow this behavior to continue, without revolutionizing like the women in many other countries, including the US, once did. On the other hand, women in the United States are taught to love and respect themselves. Opposing Pakistan costumes, a woman that has a positive outlook on herself is found to be more appealing and attractive to the male population than a woman who is constantly putting herself down. Because the women in America today are taught by their parents and other members of society that they are valuable members of humanity from the day they are brought into the world, the vast majority of them would never let the male population control the direction of their
Although she is a used character, readers can infer that she possesses herself. She is respected to the point where the Johnny jumper’s don’t come by her shack to cause trouble as they do to others. Though she is respected by many, she, herself has different view points on how a women should present themselves to men. “Soon and very soon you goin` be taking man” Circe constantly tells Lilith. She thinks that women have to have sex in order to be women.
Everyone has their own definition. Intimacy is a major requirement in a relationship and the male’s sex drive is higher than a female’s most of the time. If the woman does not ‘put out’ as much as the man might want, he will find some other female to give him what he wants. On the other side, females want to feel loved and hear that they are beautiful and get gifts and little surprises that keep them on their feet. Most guys feel that is not the ‘macho’ thing to do, so the girl is going to stray and find someone who can fulfill their fantasies.
Those responses, however, usually provoke conflict as they have different meanings. For women, a minimal response of this type means only that she is listening. For men, instead, it means that he is agreeing. So, women will get upset with men who never seem to listen and men on the other hand, will think that the woman is always agreeing and then, changes her mind! It is often explained that the different roles in speech are caused by the social system which gives men the control, and makes women
Dove Real Beauty Nikki Henderson MKT/421 February 11, 2013 Instructor: Phillip Spivey Dove Real Beauty Envision a world where beauty is a basis of self-confidence and optimism instead of apprehension and disquiet. So many women are fixated on their appearance and almost all of them have something they dislike about their body. Whether that dissatisfaction is with a chubby tummy, crow's feet, acne scars, hair that is too curly or not curly enough, or even a spot of cellulite, often times the imperfection, or perceived imperfection, is blown way out of proportion (Fox, 1997). The imaginary faults are time and again overstated in their own minds and are repeatedly perpetuated by the media (Fox, 1997). Friends and family may see someone that is perfectly normal, beautiful even, but as far that individual woman is concerned, the image of beauty the world proliferates has become restrictive and unachievable (Fox, 1997).
Women survey themselves to view how they would look to a man. The side of women that views their image is described as being male. This is to say that women view themselves as a man would. This ad is rather tame, but this proves Berger’s point that women survey themselves. This ad is another good example of women being objectified.
The whole poems started during the time woman were tending to stay quite. She wrote the poem to express her opinion of a female’s voice in the society. She speaks in a worthless tone. In her view women were not different than men. Bradstreet also shows identity for the Puritan men that criticize her work because men had more talent and skill, which come in handy in the society, but she sees that it’s unfair.
Skinny women are told that there what everyone wants, but when they see men going after larger women they feel some type of way. Walt Whitman said “Be not ashamed women, … You are the gates of the body, and you are the gates of the soul”. In reality there is someone for everyone so the fact that some women can’t be confident in themselves bothers me. Lastly many say personation is everything, this is true. Women carry themselves with the conception that they have their stuff together, no visible flaws.
