Lab Report Of Cells Introduction: The Cell, the fundamental structural unit of all living organisms. Some cells are complete organisms, such as the unicellular bacteria and protozoa, others, such as nerve, liver, and muscle cells, are specialized components of multicellular organisms. In another words, without cells we wouldn`t be able to live or function correctly. The Stem Cell Hypothesis : Much of the discussion surrounding stem cells today is focused on the promise of using these powerful cells to treat such diseases as diabetes and Parkinson’s, or to repair damaged tissue—say, after a heart attack. But stem cell biology is also making inroads in another important area: breast cancer research. Generally speaking, stem cells are unique cells in the body that have the ability to self-renew and to give rise to a range of specialized cell types, such as heart cells, immune cells and neurons. These potent cells are critical during development and in helping the body heal itself after an injury, for instance Material: The cells of protozoa, higher plants and animals are highly structured. These cells tend to be larger than the cells of bacteria, and have developed specialized packaging and transport mechanisms that may be necessary to support their larger size. Use the interactive animation of plant and animal cells to learn about their respective organelles. Take me to the ANIMATION : Procedure : First we placed the slide under the simple microscope and observed it at ten times magnification level. We each took turns looking. We then copied them as drawings into our Cornell notebooks. After that we changed the magnification to fifty times and observed the slide. We each took turns looking. We then copied what we saw into our Cornell notebooks. After that we changed the magnification level to sixty times and we each took turns looking at
