The Black Business Association’s(BBA) Entrepreneur of the Year Banquet Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen. I want the thank everyone for coming out tonight to support this event. My name is Dr. Tucker and I have the great pleasure of introducing and presenting our entrepreneur of the year with this award. I am happy to present to you Dr. Kitara Jones-McCray. She is a 29 year-old mother of two beautiful twins, Justin and Jessica McCray. Dr. Jones-McCray received her bachelor’s degree in elementary education and received her doctorate degree from Morehouse Medical School to become a OB/GYN. Dr. Jones-McCray owns her own medical practice and a after school program for children 6-18 years old called Reaching New Heights. Reaching New Heights has been in business for 5 years now and was Dr. Jones-McCray’s first business. When the building was first built it started out as 7,500 square feet. Now that the business has been running for almost 6 years it has grown into a 12,000 square foot building. Reaching New Heights is a place where elementary through high school students to go after school to give them something to do instead of being home alone and running the streets. There are mentors, nurses, and tutors available for the children whenever they may need help with their homework, illness or just someone to open up too. There is a small fee of $120 per week for each child that attends but the fees for each child goes towards things that child may need and any field trips the children may go on. Within the next 3 years, Dr. Jones-McCray plans to open at least 4 more Reaching New Heights around the world. Atlanta’s Woman Center Obstetrics & Gynecology has been in business for 3 years now. It is a 30,000 square foot, multi level medical center for women who don’t have insurance of the money to pay for a expensive doctor. This doctors office does everything from
