The “King” vs. The Black Mamba Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, two of the best basketball players in the world. Both are talented all-stars who can score in bunches. The difference? Winning. Kobe Bryant is a better player than LeBron James because he is a proven winner. A ring rush of 5 championships, a compilation of game-winners, having the assassin mentality, leading by example, this is what gives Kobe the edge over LeBron. Kobe Bryant and LeBron James are both extremely gifted basketball players who possess the talent and athleticism, allowing them to be prosperous at their profession. First of all, Kobe Bryant holds the record for most three- pointers made with twelve in one game, on January 7th, 2003 vs. the Seattle SuperSonics. Hitting 12 threes is scoring 36 points from beyond the arc. For a shooting guard who isn’t known as a pure three point shooter like Ray Allen, or Rashard Lewis-- holding the record is an amazing accomplishment especially since Mr. Bryant had been 24 years old at the time. This record can only add on to Kobe’s legacy of being an assassin on the court when it comes to basketball. Meanwhile, on January 22nd, 2006 the Toronto Raptors held an insurmountable 18-point lead in the third quarter--71-53. Every Laker on court or on the bench looked helpless with the exception of Kobe Bryant. At half-time Kobe had a measly 26 points, but he turned the heat up by scoring 27 points in the third quarter alone and then 28 in the fourth quarter. 55 points in 24 minutes, 81 points in 48 minutes, winning the game 122-104. Kobe desperate for a win, willed his team out of a loss, something no shooting guard in NBA history has ever done. Scoring 81-points is something that happens in a video game, not real life.
