The Theory Behind Tutankhamen Death Domonick J Davis Hum 111 Professor Erin Chrisman April 29,2013 King Tut was a very young ruler of Egypt and died when he was about 18. He was made famous when his tomb was discovered in 1922. Don't know if he would have been pleased about being the most famous mummy ever. Tutankhamun was an Egyptian pharaoh of the 18th dynasty (ruled ca. 1332 BC – 1323 BC in the conventional chronology), during the period of Egyptian history known as the New Kingdom.
Global Studies I & II The fall of the Roman Empire and the decline of the United States The traditional date given for the fall of the Roman Empire in the west is A.D. 476. The process for the fall of the Roman Empire took many centuries to unfold. There is no one cause for the fall of the empire, but everyone has there opinions on what caused such a great empire to fall. Some people think the empire fell because of its leaders becoming far too cocky and didn’t pay attention to the necessary things needed to keep an empire running strong, while others blame the cause on religion and say things like “god did it” or “god wanted it to happen”. Whatever the cause of the fallen Empire of Rome, many people have been comparing it to the recent decline of the US on the world stage, which also has many of its own causes.
Another mystery of Hatshepsut is her existence. and Thutmose III had a very unhealthy relationship. When he ruled he removed all her images. Removing her from temple wall and monuments. In 1903 one of her tombs were discovered by Howard Carte.
• The massive Earthquake in AD 62, described by Seneca, indicates that the volcano was returning to life. • Seismologists think it unlikely that there was only one quake in the 17 years prior to the eruption. • In mid August AD 79, a series of small tremors began to rock the area again. • Certain springs ceased to flow and some wells completely dried up. A Personal account • The first or ‘Plinian’ Phase was described by Pliny the
Year 12 Ancient History New Kingdom Egypt to the death of Thutmose IV Thutmose III After the death of Thutmosis II, his marriage to Hatshepsut, a descendant from the founder of the New Kingdom through her mother, had only produced one daughter, Nefrure. The throne thus fell to the son of a lesser wife, Isis, who was still a minor; like both his predecessors, he bore the personal name Thutmose. Under his throne, Menkheperre, this third Thutmose would become, for his subjects as well as for his neighbouring peoples, an enduring and fearsome symbol of the grandeur of Egypt. The young king’s stepmother, Hatshepsut, acted as regent on his behalf until he was old enough to rule for himself. Throughout this regency, Hatshepsut unknowingly creates the super pharaoh of the 18th dynasty, as she sends Thutmose to a military base at the age of nine where he would have been taught the key elements of a warrior pharaoh: loyalty, drive and well-known military prowess – qualities that have led Egyptologists as well as historians to compare him to the “Emperor Napoleon” of his time; a reference both to his military abilities and to his physical stature.

Tutankhamun ‘The best thing that Tutankhamun ever did was to die because his burial treasures provides evidence of the art, culture and burial practices of the Eighteenth Dynasty’ –Howard Carter Howard Carter’s statement is extremely harsh but is very true, as Tutankhamun did not participate in any historically significant events during his nine years as pharaoh of Egypt, whereas his tomb taught our society so much about 18th Dynasty Ancient Egyptian culture. Tutankhamun suffered from numerous birth defects, and died at only 19 years of age therefore it would have been very difficult for him to participate in major battles or make serious political amendments to 13th century B.C. Egypt. However, due to his death, Tutankhamun was able to be buried with a vast array of Ancient goods which have become primary sources for Archaeologists trying to discover the sociology of Ancient Egypt. The tomb of Tutankhamun was such a significant archaeological discovery because it was the only burial chamber in the whole Valley of the Kings where the mummified body and numerous objects were still in situ.
