The Mali Empire was strong with forces, which their empire was the size of Western Europe. Mali was a world power, which made them over more dominion of its neighbors. Mali traded with Europe and Egypt, which were very successful because most of the trade items were gold. Mali adopted the religion of Islam, which was another addition contribution to their success. The fall of the Mali Empire was the death of their leader Mansa.
In 1535, I sailed to Mexico with Antonio de Mendoza, the colony’s first Admiral. I became one of the governors of New Galacia (one of the Spanish colonies in the New World). Searching for the Seven Cities of Gold Between 1536 and 1539, Admiral Mendoza heard stories about the Seven Cities of Cibolo, the Seven Cities of Gold where the streets and houses were made of gold and jewels. He sent me on an expedition to find them and claim the wealth for Spain. In 1540 I set out with 300 soldiers and about 1,000 Indians.

The Aztecs had capitalized on the trade of luxurious items such as jade, animal skins, and feathers. They traded over long distances and were known to trade surpluses of obsidian. Irrigation played an important part of their economy and allowed the farmers a way to receive water for their crops. The tribute system was implemented when the Aztecs began conquering other city-states and forced payment upon their conquerors in the form of goods, which can be related to today’s concept of taxation. The most recognized tribute was the forced upon tribute for the Aztecs to repay Spain.
By 1471, they reached what came to be known as the “Gold Coast” or what is how largely modern day Ghana. For the first ten years, they engaged in trade with the people of Endia which they termed “the mine” because there gold. Trade was good, fabrics, metal wares, in particular brass and fabrics, especially cotton. But all of these were gold. So in 1482 the Portuguese built a built a fort at Elmina [the mine] to protect their trade and they then spread across the Gold Coast.

Sundiata was an honorable king who founded and ruled the empire of Mali from 1235-1255. He was inherited from the Keita clan of the Malinke people from the small kingdom of Kangaba. He traveled far and wide, dressed as an ordinary hunter-king at times but then wore a Muslim robe in others. His successors were orthodox Muslims (Niane, vii). During Sundiata’s reign, he established the territorial vile of the empire and laid down the fundamentals for its future opulence and political unanimity.
In the battle of Issus, about 30,000 of Alexander’s troops faced 100,000 Persian troops. After securing a victory Alexander was granted with most of Persia’s land. He then proceeded to take possession of Syria, and most of the coast of the Levant. Alexander’s empire was quickly growing in size and in numbers. 989.984.4502 Years were spent in conquest and battle.
The king had a rich treasure of gold bars and coins. Sweet water came from wells and canals delivered water to the city when the Niger River flooded. Salt was imported from Tegaza (almost 500 miles away) to Timbuktu. (Doc.1) The capital of Samarqand was rich and lavish. Trade was always promoted by Timur (Turkic conqueror); he would take the best skilled men from different cities and bring them to Samarqand where they would work to make the finest goods.
