Antigone's downfall is the result of her own doing. She refuses to listen to Creon because she is Polynesis' brother and wants him to be buried and suffers the consequences of disobeying the king. Antigone's death is not deserved for the crime she did. Creon sentenced her to death because he was threatened for his thrown. The readers are saddened because Antigone should not have died and she should be the queen of the kingdom instead of Creon.
Since the letter did not get to Romeo, he fled to Verona to see his beloved lying in the tomb. He thought she was dead so he drank a powerful poison to kill himself. In addition to Friar Lawrence’s poor choices, he cause Juliet’s death. Friar Lawrence is responsible for Juliet’s death. He left Juliet vulnerable in the tomb.
A Tale of Two Kings The Hobbit and Arthurian legend are two of the most famous works of British literature. While Thorin Oakenshield may not be the main hero of The Hobbit, he and King Arthur are fairly similar. Joseph Campbell's basic steps of a typical hero's journey apply to both characters. The steps are based on years of literature and myth. People's values and beliefs about what makes a hero a hero are so common that Joseph Campbell was able to recognize the similarities between all the different stories and myths (Campbell Myth 4).
Kreon thinks that the person who caused all of this is Antigone. He thinks that Antigone caused this because it was her fault that that they had an argument in the first place about burying Polyneices. Kreon might think that of Antigone as his nemesis because she causes problems to his family and his empire. He deals with Antigone by slaving her and putting her into in a cave until she starved to death. “Be happy, You are living; but my soul died long ago, to be useful among the death”(pg.43).this are Antigones words which show she wanted to hang herself to be with her
Friar tells Juliet “Thy husband in the bosom there lies dead” (V.iii.155). He tells her that Romeo has died because he thought she was actually dead and couldn’t stand to be without her. Friar stated, “Miscarried by my fault, let my old life be sacrificed some hour before his time unto the rigor of severest law” (V.iii.267-269). He is explaining to The Capulet’s, Montague’s, and the Prince that he is to blame for the death of Romeo and Juliet. Antigone knows that Creon knows what she has done and states, “I gave myself to death, long ago, so I might serve the dead.” Her brother not being buried changes the relationship she has with her uncle because her uncle now wants her to suffer and to e tormented for something she thought was right. Anti gone dies because she kills herself in a cave she can’t escape from. She hung herself and the first person to realize she was dead is Creon’s son Haemon. Haemon was devastated and wanted to kill the person responsible and he felt that there wasn’t a force on the planet that could stop him. Creon is told by Tiresias that if he doesn’t change the way he is bad things are going to happen.
Fitz kills Verna, because he didn’t want to lose his presidency, and since she has already tried to assassinate he knows she is a threat alive. Another important piece of information is that with both scenarios, the wives had no part on influencing these murders. These situations are the first times they make bad decisions on their own, which shows them both heading down the wrong path. It was written around 700 A.D, and it is one of the oldest books in the English language. Most books that have a hero fighting an enemy originated from Beowulf. Beowulf also contains many archetypes such as the Monster of Nightmare, Hero, The Fall, Magic Weapon, Heaven vs Hell, and Haven vs Wilderness. For example, “In his far-off home Beowulf, Higlac’s Follower and the strongest of the Geats- greater And stronger than anyone anywhere in this world” describes a hero.
