Along with a possibility of creating a large job market here in the U.S. with upwards of 600,000 people needing to operate this endeavor, we could take back our economy. The con for this is that it is still too new for us to determine what it can do to the land around where the fracking is taking place. There have been reports of water contamination as well as earthquakes due to displacing tectonic plates. There needs to be a more conclusive study done in order to determine whether or not oil and gas companies should be allowed to engage in fracking. At this time, I could not conclusively say yes or no to allowing fracking in the U.S. 2.
With this power in our political system nothing new ever gets a chance to be implemented into our lives. I mean I agree with Congress that such a big project would certainly be beneficial to the economy and open up a huge amount of job opportunities. The opposers believe that the issue will hurt the environment and this to them is too big of a risk to take. Well I’ve heard Obama state before we need to bring more jobs to our country at home, well wouldn’t this be a perfect chance at doing that? There are two branches of government here battling back and forth between the pros and cons of the proposed new project, but in my opinion the President is wrong and the pro’s certainly outweigh the
The other benefit our government received had to do with the changes caused in the economy when the 9/11 terrorist attacks happened. What happened that day, cost the U.S. $20 billion dollars and caused the global market to fall over $100 billion dollars. This made it easier for our government to trade certain goods with other certain countries. This is also a good excuse to raise taxes and the prices of oil and anything else people need so the government is spending money but maybe not as much as they were receiving. The terrorist attacks also caused the major debt the U.S. was in
Assignment: Canada’s Oil Sands The Keystone XL oil pipeline [5] is a crude oil pipeline that was proposed by TransCanada to transport crude oil from the Canadian Oil Sands [7]. Recently, President Obama denied the construction of the pipeline, despite Prime Minister Harper’s public support for the project. The pipeline was protested by thousands of individuals, organized by Greenpeace Canada [23]. Another stakeholder that publicly opposed the pipeline was the Natural Resources Defense Council [24] (NRDC), a U.S. based environmental group. Since the Keystone XL project has been delayed, the NRDC has focused attention on the Northern Gateway Pipeline [32].
The benefits will give many American construction companies and its workers a job, which will fuel the economy with more money. Also American refineries will be receiving a long term supply of crude oil that our country desperately need. So what are the hesitant people waiting for? This Keystone pipeline need supporters like yourself to fight for a stable, friendly, efficient supply of oil for our country, and what a bonus that it would create jobs for fellow
He has been pushing for this amendment to pass since 2007, but the lawmakers are reluctant to support the move, knowing they may face disapproving constituents in future elections. We need to keep the money in the state of Kentucky. To allow us to spend our money in other neighboring states causes millions to be lost when we as Kentuckians to generate cash for our top of the line horse industry and strengthen government
This should ease up some of the congestion around the interstate 75 and interstate 285 connection. Also, they plan on reconstructing both intersections to enhance the flow of traffic around the ball park. After the new stadium had been announced, there were mixed views on opposing the plan. Many Cobb County residents were furious when they were asked if they supported the plan to build a new stadium by funding their tax dollars. No taxpayer wants additional taxes added to their bills each month.
Proposal: Death Penalty The death penalty has been an issue in California for a long period of time because it costs too much money just to put prisoners to rest. This problem ended up becoming a proposition in the recent election year and it was called Prop 34. The argument of the death penalty was that some citizens wanted to banned it because it was costing California too much money just to execute the inmates. The people who were voting yes on Prop 34, were voting to not have the death penalty anymore. Citizens who voted no on Prop 34, wanted the death penalty still in action for those who commit extreme crimes.
In the meantime while Canada was out of the oil market, a Norway has became an oil dominated exporter. Canada who by now, was depleted of an oil source, were forced to commence a trade agreement with the Norwegians from whom they now bought their oil from at a higher rate. One wrong move in decision making on whether to hold on to something or make a profit out could significantly change the countries economic position. Both economically and socially has NEP failed to assimilate in the land of Canada. (Bruce Winton, 2) The program was initially enacted to enhance the productions of oil, but instead, it has ceased it, and put its producer in huge
Fritz Kellerman Kyle Anderson History 1351 3 May 2011 Final Identification Truman Doctrine- The Truman Doctrine was a policy made by Harry Truman. The policy said that we would give military support to Turkey and Greece to prevent them from falling to the soviets. We would end up spending over 400 million dollars on them. Congress approved the money but not the military support. A few years after the fact, both countries would join NATO.
