The story line and plot is very easy to follow and it is interesting throughout the whole movie. Look like all they want to do is knock you down.” Enoch tells Haze about his abusive father and this mean lady he lived with before he came there. It really makes me wonder if Enoch ever had anybody to talk to and that is why he is so strong on Haze; because Haze is listening. Enoch tells Haze that he has “wise blood”. “When he realized that today was the day he decided not to get up. He didn’t want to justify his daddy’s blood, he didn’t want to be always having to do something that something else wanted him to do, that he didn’t know what it was and that was always dangerous”(135).
Scout tried to resist her father but since Atticus was a well-respected man to both his peers and families, Scout followed his orders. “You just hold your head high and keep those fists down. No matter what anyone says to you, don’t let ‘em get your goat. Try fighting with your head for a change…it’s a good one, even if it does resist learning.” (76) A good father would teach his
Ender’s Game Essay In Ender’s Game, the colonel comments that Ender wins thoroughly. This is a sufficient explanation for why Ender hurts people, because when someone wins thoroughly, the person does not have to worry about fighting anymore, and Ender does not like to fight. Ender does not turn to others for help because he believes that nobody is going to be there to help him, because they know they are trying to make him stronger. Ender is not a killer, he just tries his best to win his battles in one, and in every fight he gets placed in, he does not know that he killed his enemy, it is only afterwards that he finds out. In the schoolyard, when Ender is fighting Stilson and knocks him down, he decides to “win it now, and for all

A champion will fail once in awhile. A contender will fail too but always try to become a champion no matter what. i agree with donatelli, because if you have no goals in your life, you have nothing to strive for and you don’t want it bad enough. My own experiences of when I wanted to be a contender is when i wanted to dance. Ever since i was little i always wanted to be a choreographer - but i will never get there unless i try and when i do it will make me happy and make me work harder than one.
When Beowulf is discussing his battle with Breca and says "Often, for undaunted courage, / fate spares the man it has not already marked" (572-573). Even though Beowulf thinks that everything is decided by fate, he still feels as though he has input in it when it has not already been decided. Before Beowulf fights Grendel he declares "And may the Divine Lord / in His wisdom grant the glory of victory / to whichever side He sees fit" (685-687). Beowulf is going into this fight completely fearless, because he does not know who will win and can not change the course, so he goes into the fight accepting his possible death. Everyone in this epic has the state of mind that if they die, they die, if they live, great.
When Dre gets his eyes blackened by another boy on playground, he becomes obsessed with learning how to defend himself, and finds an unwilling mentor in maintenance man Mr. Han (Jackie Chan). The Karate Kid is about as seriously dramatic as you can make it considering that it’s aimed at a younger audience, only lit occasionally by sparks of humor. The humor comes from a sarcastic young lead, Dre, and the ubiquitous warmth of character that can be found in Mr. Han, but the moments are few and far between. I believe that this was done on purpose because of its effectiveness in making the audience feel almost as isolated as Dre. Target audience: The Karate Kid is aimed at, in my opinion, 8 to 16 year olds.
