The assassination is proved wrong by Antony when he reads Caesar's will to the people. Antony reads the paper or his will to the crowd and in it Caesar "gives/, to every several man seventy-five drachmas." The conspirators who killed Caesar believed he might do something bad to the citizens of Rome, but Caesar loved them enough to put them in his will, canceling any good cause for the assassination. The conspirators killed Caesar because they also believed that he was too ambitious. When Caesar "put it[the crown] by thrice.../ and at every putting-by mine honest neighbors shouted," he threw the conspirators into being jealous.
Julius Caesar Marc Antony in Shakespeare’s play, Julius Caesar was murdered by Brutus despite Brutus’s allegations of Caesar’s quest for dictatorship status and supports his argument by manipulating the people’s emotions. Antony’s purpose is for the people to mourn for their lost leader through Brutus’s lies so that they would seek revenge on him. Antony speaks in a driven but sarcastic tone for the citizens of Rome. Marc Antony persuaded the people using pathos, ethos, and logos. In regards to their leaders murder, the Romans turned against the senate, there for Antony’s speech was more persuading than Brutus’s.
Trebonius, Metellus Cimber, Decius, Casca and I finally assassinated Julius Caesar! Everything went just as plan. Artemidorus did try to ruin our plan by giving Caesar a letter, but thank the gods Caesar is so head-strong because he told Artemidrus that he would read it later. But there wasn’t a latter for him. We were all there; it felt like we had a front row seat to Caesar’s death.
An example of him being too power hungry was his desire to be Rome’s dictator for life. This shows he wanted to be the only one in control and wanted all the power to himself and didn’t want to share it with any individual. Another example is how he wanted to be like Alexandar the Great and conquer countries and have lots of power. In essence, this means his idol was a man of great power and a man who was famous for conquering countries and land. An idol like this means Caesar did not have good thoughts, and all he wanted was power and wanted people to bow down to him.
The question everyone is asking is what Brutus does make him noble or an honorable stature. Brutus kills Julius because I believe he is persuaded by Cassius for Rome’s own good. In the play I believe Brutus’s character was very strong and his integrity. The fact that he basically could control the conspirators and over power Cassius definitely showed it. Brutus just wants to do the right thing for Rome, but I do believe when Cassius thinks killing Julius is the best thing for Rome Brutus was easily manipulated and deep down inside Brutus knows that.
To begin, Macbeth is viewed as a brave and fearless man with very good military standing he is also viewed as a good leader. Macbeth is a good man at this point in the play but due to some prophecies that are made by, some crazy witches; he starts to betray his closest friends. Macbeth begins to plot against King Duncan, the man who just named him Thane of Cawdor. Macbeth realizes the costliness of killing the king and how his actions may damn him forever. Macbeth tells his wife, Lady Macbeth, That he cannot go through with it and she begins to question him, “When you durst do it, then you were a man; And, to be more than what you were, you would be so much more the man” (Shakespeare I.VII.
Perspectives on the murder of Caesar Most of the conspirators and the plebs: Tyrannicide was a just and proper punishment Viewpoint | Evidence | Anthony and Brutus both expect the plebs to agree that if Caesar was ambitious (if he wanted to be king when he shouldn’t be), then he deserved death. | 3:1 funeral orations | Caesar has a high and rising position and Cassius is jealous of him. He expects to benefit by removing the great man above him. | 1:2 caesar’s scene with the plebs is reported by casca2:2 caesar’s arrogance1:2 cassius’ soliliquy | Casca despises both Caesar’s desire to be king and his attempt to hide his intentions. He believes the murder is just.
Another reason why Brutus could be a patriot because he said he no matter what he would die for Rome making it a better place. What makes this statement invalid is that the people of Rome would probably prefer Brutus suffering in prison for the rest of his life facing what he has done like a man, instead of being a coward and killing himself before he was captured. I believe Brutus is a betrayer for the reason he killed not only his closest friend, but Caesar the soon to be mighty leader of Rome. Already killing a friend of yours who trusted you to be at their very side, shows how much of a coward Brutus was. Another thing is the people he decided to collaborate with had a totally different motive of killing Caesar.
He arranged both murders cold bloodedly, plotting with murderers, released from prison. Macbeth killed Banquo out of jealousy; because he is "lesser than Macbeth and greater" and "not so happy, yet much happier." He kills Banquo because Banquo will father kings while he is childless. he tries to work against fate and change the part of the prophesy that does not benefit him. It is not satisfactory for him to content his own ambition.
Macbeth’s ambitious nature was the catalyst for the deaths of many characters, including his own. At first, in order to gain absolute power, Macbeth performed regicide to become King and receive the top position on the ‘Great Chain of Being.’ However, it was found that he was afterwards plagued with insecurity, as he claimed, ‘To be thus is nothing, but to be safely thus.’ Macbeth would be unsatisfied until he had absolute security over his power. As Macbeth’s insecurity and fear of losing power grew, the degree of his violence amplified. It drove him to the murder of his own friend, Banquo, the murder of the Macduff family, which involved innocent women and children, and in the end, another civil war. In addition, Macbeth’s naivety was also responsible for the tragedies, and his own downfall.
