From 1908 to 1915 Johnson had over 44 Knockouts, and only lost 8 fights. (I found further that both of his parents where slaves on a Georgia plantation.) America loves boxing because of its raw violent talent in a some what civil way. From the days of the Greeks to Modern times there has been several changes to the sport. From Bareknuck fights, to weight class and other fine tuning rules that has change the sport, but all in all the sport remains a favorite in the blue collar American community.
Arnold Schwarzenegger Most people successfully pursue one or two careers throughout their lives. By the age of fifty-six, Arnold Schwarzenegger had tackled at least three—bodybuilding, acting, and politics. It is difficult to break into any one of these professions, yet Schwarzenegger managed to excel in each and every one. He earned thirteen world bodybuilding championships, is considered one of the most influential actors in Hollywood, and, in 2003, without ever running for political office before, he became the governor of California. If Schwarzenegger had listened to his many critics along the way, he never would have succeeded.

Although Armstrong persistently denied allegations of doping, even stating he was the most tested athlete in the world and suing accusers of libel, he finally admitted to doping in a television interview conducted by Oprah Winfrey in 2012. Armstrong was a child athlete, an Iron Kids Triathlon winner at the young age of 13 as well as national triathlon champion in 1989 and 1990. Winning the Tour de France seven consecutive times was no easy feat, he was a champion, a legend. Sponsors such as Nike, RadioShack, Anheuser-Busch and Oakley believed in him and made him wealthy. He faced many critics throughout his victory years, and continuously denied every allegation of cheating by doping.
The phrase, “greatest of all time”, are words rarely spoken but greatly treasured when heard. My hero Muhammad Ali is undoubtedly known as the greatest boxer who ever lived and some argue that he is simply the greatest athlete of all time. A hero is a man or woman noted for feats of courage or nobility of purpose, especially one who has risked or sacrificed. Ali has fulfilled this depiction in its entirety. Muhammad Ali is my hero because of the standard he set as an athlete, the pride he possesses and allocates, and because of the love he incorporates within his approach to life.
This is funny because he was too young to be a father and he didn’t even know what married was (166). 4. Larry emphasizes that, “I was prepared to compete with him any time for Mother’s attention” (160). It’s so humorous because people usually compete with their enemies, but Larry wanted to compete with his father even though he’s just 5 year-old. B 1.
As stated in book two, “Her [Doña Margarita’s] youngest child was only eleven years old, but he’d been fighting and twisting between the lines of the war for so many years that he was very experienced at the art of holding onto life and not dropping down death’s dark canyon.” (p. 119) Here, we see that even his mother notices that he was forced to grow up faster, in comparison to the average child. Juan had grown up in the time of war, and the forced him to become strong and he definitely kept that mentality of fighting death and holding onto life. Lupe also had to grow up fast because of the war. Although she didn’t have to be a sole supporter for her household, she had to work instead of going to school to help keep their family afloat. We can see her responsibilities start when she’s but a child.
