While the two writers have displayed a similar theme, it is a different point of view. Each of them have showed particular journey through which life can change. Out of many things in these two literatures there is one thing in common, i.e.
Such an apprehension of what a name is (or is perceived to be) becomes key to our understanding of Jane’s and the novel’s sense of self and identity. keywords Jane Eyre, identity, names, onomastics A reader of Jane Eyre probably knows that Charlotte Brontë initially published the novel under a pseudonym, and, if not, will learn of this in an introduction to the novel or through the presentation of a title-page facsimile.1 The reader will think little more of it, eager no doubt to press on with the selfcontained story. But it may be worth pausing a while to consider what is going on in the seemingly innocuous information, ‘JANE EYRE. An Autobiography. Edited by CURRER BELL’, for this presentation is highly significant for a contextual appreciation of Charlotte Brontë’s first published novel.
Tiffany Carr Professor Skelton English 1302 7, May 2012 Analysis of [I like to see it lap the miles]: What exactly is it? Riddle me this one might say. In Emily Dickenson’s poem, [I like to see it lap the miles] there is a riddle inside itself. She uses words that can easily represent something other than what she is actually writing of. The connection between a word and what it is describing is tested throughout her poem.
Used to Live Here Once: Theme and Literary Elements Instructor; Betty Nazarian ENG 125- Introduction to Literature May 18, 2014 Used to Live Here Once: Theme and Literary Elements To discover the theme of any story one must look much deeper than just the plot of the story itself. The theme is the message in which the author is trying to convey through the story’s characters, plot, symbolism, and other literary elements used throughout the story. In “Used to Live Here Once” the short story by Jean Rhys written in 1976 the overall theme is that of a journey to discovery. It is a journey through memories to the realization that one has arrived into the afterlife. Through symbolism and tone, Rhys allows the theme of “Used to Live Here Once” to solidify, and allows the reader to fully understand the meaning behind it.

The Grapes of Wrath is an example of his non-teleological beliefs being incorporated into the nature of his characters; their fate not being pre-determined, but rather dependent on life events. Many characters such as Jim Casey, an ex-preacher,
When reading the story “Love” in the novel The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien, one can get a sense of emotional connection to the characters that cannot be obtained in the first chapter. This is done by changing the narrative from a third person in the previous chapter to first person for this particular story. While this limits the readers perspective to only that of the “O'Brien persona,” it also establishes a crucial emotional connection to not only the narrator but also to Lt. Cross. As this is only the second chapter in the collection, the reader has not yet experienced a personal connection to the narrator, giving this particular entry it's own unique feel. The reader is also for the first time emotionally connected to Lt. Cross on a personal level.
